About Us
At Māia, our mission is simple: to use CrossFit and an unparalleled sense of community to elevate the health, well-being, and fitness of Wellington. Everything we do is driven by our CORE values: Courage (Māia), Whānau, Health & Fitness, and Value. We’re looking for coaches who live and breathe these values and want to be part of something meaningful.
Over the last three years, our community has grown exponentially. Now, we’re ready to welcome another high-calibre coach to support that growth and help us deliver an exceptional experience to every member who walks through our doors.
Who We’re Looking For:
At least 12 months of CrossFit training experience
A growth mindset — not just comfortable with feedback, but actively seeking it to become the best coach you can be
Preferred: 12+ months coaching CrossFit or other group fitness
Preferred: PT or small group experience (you know how to tailor a cue for one person while still running a sharp, well-paced class of 16 — or you're eager to learn)
Preferred: CrossFit Level 1 or higher (other fitness/S&C qualifications welcome)
A walk-the-talk role model — you know your members by name, you demo with great form, run classes on time, and leave the gym better than you found it
NZ working rights and a current First Aid/CPR cert (or willingness to obtain one)
What You’ll Do
Coach 2–5 classes per week, with the potential for more
Deliver world-class briefings, demos, and movement corrections that reflect Māia’s standards
Create a safe, fun, and inclusive training space — the best 60 minutes of someone’s day
Role-model the Māia way and set the tone for our community and coaching culture
