2026 Māia Ergathon

12 hours

3 teams

1 Cause

The Māia Ergathon is happening on Saturday 26th September!

The Ergathon is an opportunity to bring our community together, use our fitness and our shared love of training, and put it towards supporting a worthy cause.

This year, we’ll be raising funds for the Cancer Society.

How will it work?

We’ll have three teams:

  • RowErg Team (Yellow)

  • SkiErg Team (Blue)

  • BikeErg Team (Pink)

Our goal as a community is simple: keep all three machines moving for 12 hours straight, from 7:00am until 7:00pm.

Each team will cover one machine for the full 12 hours, with the day broken down into one-hour blocks. Four people will be allocated to each hour, working together to keep their team’s machine moving for that entire block.

So there will be three teams, three colours and three machines working towards supporting one cause.

The team colours have some significance behind them. Yellow represents the Cancer Society and the wider fight against cancer, Blue represents prostate cancer awareness, and Pink represents breast cancer awareness. There are a range of cancers that impact individuals and families across the globe, we have chosen these three colours for this year and look forward to hopefully choosing some new ones in the coming years.

Whichever team you join, we want you to get behind your colour however you can. Dress up, get creative and represent your team throughout the day. It could be something simple like wearing some head or footwear related to your colour, or you could go all out with a costume or face paint. Whatever you can come up with we want to see it.

We’ll have prizes up for grabs on the day and as always there will be some friendly competition between the teams.

Any questions about the day can be sent through to info@maiacrossfit.co.nz
